Nutana Artifacts Museum

WE WERE THERE…….OVER THERE…..

TO COMMEMORATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR

The Nutana branch No. 362 and the artifacts room of military history is pleased to present a visual and oral presentation from a Canadian soldier and nurse who took part in the battles, endured the trenches, and practiced in the front-line hospitals during the great war.

During the First World War the population of Canada was 7,500,000. The Canadian Expeditionary Force contributed 500,000 soldiers and 2400 nurses to the war effort. From this number 68,000 soldiers and 53 nurses gave their lives in the line of duty.

The artifacts room of military history features exhibits from more than 2000 items donated by veterans and their families. They have artifacts from the Boer War, First World War, Second World War, the Korean War and peacekeeping missions.
